Well, what do we have here? Really and truly, not expecting anyone to read this, but if by change someone stumbles upon my page, WELCOME!! I have decided to embark on an amazing and exciting journey… The Rory Gilmore Reading List, but more about that later. First things first, if you don’t know who Rory Gilmore is, who the Gilmore Girls are, or don’t like coffee, you can show yourself right off my page… Just kidding! I’ll share my wisdom with you!!
First of all, Gilmore Girls is a dramady that lasted for 7 season. It shows the fun and quirky relationship between mother and daughter Lorelai and Lorelai “Rory” Gilmore. They live in the small town of Stars Hallow which, sadly, isn’t a real place. The town in filled with witty characters you can’t help but fall in love with! Thirty minutes away from this friendly town is Hartford, Conneticut. This is where you would be able to find Richard and Emily Gilmore, the parents of Lorelai. This couple is VERY wealthy, and in their social circle that is all it’s about. When Lorelai got preggers with Rory at the age of 16, she decided it was time to leave their house so as her daughter would not be brought up in the same house she felt oppressed in. The show opens to a 16 year old Rory who goes to Stars Hallow High School. Just from that first episode you can tell that this is a smart girl. Low and behold we are correct. During that first episode, Rory has been except to private a.k.a super expensive school Chilton. This is a huge opportunity for Rory, especially considering she has been dreaming of going to Harvard. The question is, how is Lorelai supposed to make this happen? If you thought her parents then you would be correct!! She goes to her parents house and makes a deal with the devil… Only kidding! She does strike a deal with them though where they will pay for Rory to attend Chilton, but only if the girls agree to Friday Night dinners… And that’s where it gets exciting! Along the way we see the all of these different relationships evolve, Rory get her first kiss, Lorelai date a bunch of guy, Rory get into college, and so so so much more! 7 years worth of more!! It’s something you HAVE to see!
Man, I love this show and the characters so much!! I have seen each episode AT LEAST five times… Some possibly six or more… Yeah, I’m what you would call ADDICTED. At least I admit it though! In addition to being super addicted to Gilmore Girls, I am also addicted to reading! One of my all time favorite things to do which is why this is perfect for me!
As I said earlier, Rory is a crazy smart girl, and in the lifespan of the television series, we have seen, or heard of, Rory reading a whopping 339 books!! My goal? Well you will have to read the next post to find out! 😉
